Behold! A fresh Test Drive Meme! As usual, you can use any threads done here for applications.

1. Arrival
Regardless of what you were doing previously - fighting in an epic battle, eating a sandwich, or being dead - you get unceremoniously spit out of the Space Bridge. For organic species that have never experienced this before, it can be pretty dizzying and leave you feeling like their bones are rattling for a few minutes. If there’s not already a Vehicon in the room, they’ll be notified of the Space Bridge activation and arrive shortly. They’ll explain what’s happened to the best of their ability, set you up with a communication device that will play a pre-recorded welcome from Captain Sparkarrow, and point out where you can find a room or food. From there, the Vehicons will let you wander around the R2 as you please - for the most part. For the moment they won’t let anyone unauthorized into the engine room.

2. Exploring the R2
The R2 is a pretty big ship, even without being able to get into the engine room. There’s empty rooms to claim for your own, a gally for grabbing yourself some energon or organic food, a lounge, and an observatory for watching the stars drift by outside. Thankfully for organics or smaller guests, there’s a high speed train system running along the ceiling of the hallways, and plenty of tiny elevators to get around with. 3. An Icebreaker Blast from the Past
To welcome everyone aboard, the ship’s very talented chef (of sorts) has made candy of all different types and flavors! Each candy will have a tag attached to it, with some ice breaker type questions on it for you to ask your fellow crew members. Things like birthplace, favorite color, hobbies, that kind of stuff. Fun, right? None of the questions will be related to factions or the war though. There will be stations around the ship where Vehicons will be handing out said candy, so it’s a good excuse to get to know the ship better as well. And fear not organics! There’s candy for you too. But since their knowledge of human candy is a bit… limited, most of them look like very large, brightly colored sugar cubes. The sizes range from palm sized to as large as a small child sized. The flavors come in an unnervingly wide range as well, but the colors don’t correspond to the flavors all the time. You might find a blue cube that tastes like strawberries, or you might find a red cube that is turkey flavored. Just know the Vehicons tried their best. On the bright side, it’s not like the candy has any strange side effects or anything.

Ultra Magnus (legalcy) and Star Saber (brainmaster) are creating a social worker team to help rehabilitate onboard prisoners. Will they succeed? Only time will tell.

If you're interested in having your characters join this social worker team, please sign in with character name and journal right here. Like other organizations on board, the members of this team will only be loosely affiliated with each other. A social worker's job will be to counsel prisoners and arrange bonding and community service activities for them and/or their parole officers.

If you want to thread out your character's interview and recruitment, just say so and I'll be happy to drop you a tag. Star Saber also has an inbox here while Magnus has an inbox here. OTHERWISE RECRUITMENT IS HANDWAVED.

Captain Sparkarrow just came across the ship's PA system to let everyone know that the ship will be passing a star that is predicted to be exploding soon. Thankfully the ship is at a safe distance, so it will be nothing more than just an interesting light show to watch. Better hustle to the observatory before everyone else gets there to get a good view!

[Event Signup] The Legend of Capybara: Aeon's Wish

The R2 finally gets around to using Croaton to locate Kingdom Memoria and goes to pull him out of the black hole he's been stuck in for years, but they end up finding more than they bargained for. Both Titans have been collected by another entity and are being used as one of the prizes for a legendary team fighting tournament in the Nameless City, one of the few natural locations within the Cathedral of Mirrors.

Now trapped in the Cathedral of Mirrors, the teams must win the Tournament to save their hope of Cybertron, and to escape this place before the worst comes to pass. There is more than Cybertron on the line here though, as the ruler of the Nameless City, Emperor Remus, offers up one single Wish to whomever can find his Daughter, the missing Princess of the Kingdom of Echoes. This Wish has no limits and can be whatever I, Lady, and capable of granting. With such a prize on the line, there are many, allies and enemies, who will do anything to have their deepest desires come true.

There is always more going on under the surface than meets the eye. Explore the Nameless City as a team and uncover its secrets. Level up before it's your turn to fight. Earn Money and buy better equipment, it's going to be a fairly open world experience, as there's many people to talk to and things to do. Most importantly: Keep an eye on your enemies to make sure that they don't succeed at their own plans, they will most certainly be thinking of doing the same to you.

Setting

The Nameless City, located in the Kingdom of Echoes, is going to be the main location in the game, as you will have your own private living quarters as Champions of the Eternal Arena. The R2 will not be present as you all arrived here on Croaton with the understanding that you were about to go on some kind of adventure, but a few friendly NPC have tagged along and will be available to help. The Tournament of the Eternal Arena takes place over the course of a few IC days, giving everyone plenty of time to prepare.

Teams

The Tournament of the Eternal Arena is a double elimination team fight. I will require at least 3-5 teams of 5 characters to participate. Considering the difficulty of the fights you will be experiencing, I would highly suggest only characters that are Level 5 and above (Have been in at least 5 events/Mini Events/Mini-Mini Events run by any DM).

When it comes to team selection, I'll split you guys up based on characters you've worked with in the past, and team synergy based on your abilities. Undoubtedly you have your own team preferences so I'm happy to accommodate them.

How long will this take?

This will take place in October, but I will not be as strict with time as I am with Mini events, so this may spill out into November. This is the end of Season 2 so it should be given the space to breathe.

So what are we doing, exactly?

Your main goal is to win the tournament, or find some other way to acquire Kingdom Memoria and Croaton should you lose the tournament. You also have to find Capybara, who doesn't seem to be all that present in all this, but you do know that he was present on Kingdom Memoria up until extremely recently, so there's no reason for him to be missing unless something's afoot.

You should also keep an eye on your worst enemies. This Wish can go to anyone, and if it goes to the wrong person? It could mean the worst case scenario. Talking to these groups and figuring out what their wishes are may help you get a feel for things, and you never know where things will take you. There are many quests and sidequests to take up to either level yourselves up for your fight, or win alliances with NPCs that may or may not be willing to help you out.

The Tournament

Tournament setup is very interesting turns out and I think I might go with a Round Robin between all the teams before heading into a few single elimination rounds. Should be enough to keep us busy for the whole month. This is subject to change, but it seems like the best way to go about it.

For fairness sake, the R2 Team 2 will be the team with the highest overall Level.

Anything Else?

We'll be using an entirely new Game System and a specialized set of sheets that I've been testing for the past couple of weeks. The QA testing has been very valuable and I am confident that it'll be fun to play with once the event comes around. We also will not be using Roll20 this time around because people have so much difficulty with it, and will instead be using Owlbear Rodeo.

Don't worry, it's not as scary as it sounds.

After Action Report: Rescue (a harrowing space faerie adventure)

Who: Leo, Mikey, Blues, Zero, Roll, Bass, Rock, Donnie
Rewards: None, unless you count Donnie and Rock.
What: A rescue that turned into a boss fight.

The rescue team arrived at a seemingly abandoned space station exhibiting unusual characteristics, where they very quickly discovered the comms were down and the environment unsettling, to say the least. They swiftly discovered the small station to be of Triceraton in origin, based on the language in the docking bay. The Language is known as Aurebesh, the name based on the names of their "Original Three Emperors from the First Herd."

Further down, they discovered an Ominous Poem and a Triceraton guard who reacted to them as if they were Monsters. Bass crit charm'd the guard (Jake) into a bunch of selfies and later got his social media.

They were then unceremoniously pushed into a fancy ballroom where things escalated and revelations were had.

Rock and Donnie were 'mind-controlled' into believing that Grusa was their father and their family were Monsters set on taking them away to unknowable fates. They'd also been physically changed to various degrees.

The team attempted various tactics to break the 'brainwashing'. Roll attempted to touch the emotional side, while the others wrote Rock and Donnie's names in an attempt to unlock their memories. Mikey briefly succumbed to his Vampyre urges after exposure to blood.

After limited success, Blues used his Wish, and it was revealed that it wasn't brainwashing in the traditional sense. It was false memories, placed by a human named Tezca, in order to make them see Grusa in a good light. However, unlike what Grusa wanted, Tezca hadn't destroyed the memories.

Following Leo taking Tezca hostage, Donnie -after a meltdown that saw a Mystic Barrage unleashed on near everyone-, too, was freed.

After a somewhat robust deal was made between Leo and Grusa, the group was allowed to leave, though Grusa remains alive, but is currently no threat.

NPCS:
None, though Zero dropped to 0hp, and Bass would have were it not for Destiny. A number of people also ended up under 20% HP.

NPCS:
Destiny: The Twin of Destiny, a fae goddess. She made a deal with Bass to keep him from death. Appeared as Bass's sister, Piano.

Grusa: Pronouns N/A. A powerful, cruel, and manipulative fae. Grusa views others as mere products and was ultimately behind the warping of Donnie and Rock's minds by creating a false reality where the fae was the loving parent and everyone else is a monster. Grusa's power is immense, manipulation subtle, and the fae has a possessiveness that makes for a terrifying and formidable antagonist who plays the long game.

Tezca: A doormat of a pure human, he is a reluctant pawn of both Queen Maeb and Grusa. Despite his doormat and timidness, he is one of the three most powerful psychics in the galaxy. In this case, he was used to hide the memories and place false ones in the place they should be. Truthfully, he was tasked to destroy them, but chose to hide them instead. He has a boyfriend named Xiuh.

Other mentions/things you the DM plan on using later:

Triceratons: I have the start of a plot for them, but am open to collaborations!

Psychics: Two of the three most powerful psychics in the galaxy are humans. I am open to collaborating on the final one! Other wise I have plans for two of three.

Hi all! This check in is going to be a bit different, since a good number of folks are on hiatus anyways.

I don’t want to call this a “state of the game” exactly since I don’t have a ton to say, but I wanted to check in with you all, the lovely players, to see how you are feeling about how things are going in Cyberformed.

One thing I am interested in getting feedback on is events. I had originally planned for Cyberformed to be fairly slow paced - which is still mostly true I think - with events like every three months at most. Thanks to you guys and your creativity, we now have events almost every month, but I’m wondering if that’s too much given the number of folks taking hiatus and talking about being burnt out? Between events and mini-events that are more involved than just “X happened, here’s a space to react” our schedule is frankly pretty jam packed.

To me this has made it feel like we are just jumping from event to event to event with no down time for characters to just do random slice of life type things, but if the majority of y’all are happy with the faster pace, I’m not here to be the fun police.

While the event schedule was my main focus I wanted feedback on, this post is open for other things too! I’m going to enable anonymous comments just in case someone doesn’t feel comfortable putting constructive criticism out there with their name on it, but obviously any outright bashing of anyone or anything will be deleted. I wouldn’t expect that from anyone here, but just putting it out there.

Thank you all again for helping to make Cyberformed such a lovely little community to be around, and I hope this is a good chance for us to chat and see how we can make it even better!

Magical Mayhem has never been Cuter!! (May Event Details)

The R2 has amassed a lot of things: Primal Artifacts, Magic Users, magic items in general, weird stuff brought back from missions etc, etc! Something was bound to happen at some point and now, due a confluence of noodle-events something is happening.

At least it's cute, harmless* chaos brought on by Adorably Cute Magical Sabretooth Kittens who have done no wrong ever. And was that a Goose with a knife? Wait! Where have they gone?! Oh no...

The Event will last all month to give everyone time to play with everything, as there's a lot ten kittens and a Goose can do before they're corralled back into the box via a Mini-Event.

As this affects all of the R2 and deals with, amongst other things, the visualisation of the self as something Cute, the opt-out is a cute charm bracelet otherwise easy to ignore while you watch the chaos happening.

Betting is highly encouraged, though why is the betting booth shaped like a banana phone?

*Harmless means harmless, anything that would otherwise be dangerous will see a character either bubbled by a giant soap bubble, or turned into a stuffed animal or potted plant for an hour or so. The character will be full aware and able to move, talk, etc.

The next part in the sage of the revival of Ra Moon and his Stardroids (ancient Evil supercomputer deity and his terrible evil robot children/creations)! Yay!

The Stardroid known as Visio, captured on a planet of the same name, is wanted dead by his eldest sibling for failing a mission. He doesn't completely trust the cloaking capabilities of the R2 so he'd like to give her something bigger and more immediate to focus on for a while. While he too is still VERY much invested in the revival of his Master, Ra Moon, he is equally invested in living long enough to see it through.

Recently he's dropped some information on the young robot who often visits him in his cell in the Brig.

There is an old factory that produces War Drones for Ra Moon's army Visio believes has likely been reactivated recently. It's located in an asteroid field known as the Thousand Fangs. Destroying the factory will certainly draw Visio's oldest sister's attention for a while, keeping him safe, and, more importantly to the rest of the characters, potentially delay the Stardroids from finding the remaining things they need to revive Ra Moon.

It won't be easy though. The factory is likely guarded by many war drones and there is a high likelihood of a Stardroid stationed there to oversee the facility operations. Visio has indicated the most likely candidate to be his sister 'Velocitron' (No relation to the cybertronians that live there Ra Moon is a terrible namer who simply names his kids after planets he thinks they vibe with).

There are two teams.

Team Diversion, led by Rock, is intended to go for a direct assault outside the facility. They need to make noise, cause chaos, and draw Velocitron's attention and lure her out so the other team can complete their mission.

Team Destruction, led by Shadowman, will be infiltrating the factory and planting explosives in key areas as well as overriding the assembly line core. This is a stealth based mission.

There is potential for the actions or inactions of one team to affect the other so play careful! There will also be a comm line set up for the two teams to ICly communicate with one another.

There is also a 'Bonus Team' known as Team Boom. This team will not be in the event proper and mainly just a few characters who have ICly provided the team with explosives to blow the factory up. Characters who are on Team Boom can also participate in one of the proper teams since Team Boom is just for backstory funsies.

Sign ups are below. Team Diversion can have 4-6 characters, Team Destruction 3-5. You are allowed to sign up with different characters to both if you think you can handle it though if too many people sign up you may have to settle for one.

Welcome to Eidolonia. A cold desolate place hidden outside the eyes of the curious. Mind the empty but busy streets, many do not stop to speak or pay attention to those coming and going.

Though in such cold wonderlands, the adventurous R2 crew will be welcomed as warmly as possible by the resident self taught (and one of two) doctor(s): Mesmer.

“We don’t get visitors. Least of all from such a selection of people.”

There’s been a string of attacks around the city and the growing Hot Spot. It happens every so often it has become another normal to the cold.

It leaves victims empty, chest caved out and brain tampered.

Things can’t go on in this condition. Something has to change. Can’t you stop it from continuing?

The doctor wishes for such travelers to be safe, do not let it get you.

There may not be anything to recover if it does.

All the while of investigation. There are eyes watching at all times. Pray they are not an enemy.

Join to investigate the Mining City Kalon of Eidolonia, their surrounding ocean of Energon: Undinic Ichor, and learn more of the brand new Hot Spot: Graven Cradle.

Up to Six Players for the Investigation. Discord Thread to plot characters and sheets to come soon.

One Medic Something's wrong with this city's health. An additional subplot will be added if time allows for the rest of the Medics' preoccupations else where. Thus restricting healers.

Hot Shot has made a total of 7 imperfect Energon Stars for use. Don't ask him the details.

Uncover the Monster that Looks Back. What is it and why is it here? Is it related to the number of Cybertronians taking refuge in the cold?
